Arapahoe Basin
Arapahoe Basin is a short drive east of Keystone on US 6. The Basin
can also be reached by Loveland Pass, exiting Interstate 70 on the
east side of Eisenhower Tunnel.
Arapahoe Basin, known to those in the know as "The Legend,"
is located along the Continental Divide and is the highest ski resort
in North America, offering 490 acres of skiing with a summit of
13,050 feet. Due to its extreme elevation, the area is well known for
late-season skiing, frequently remaining open until the 4th of July!
Half the mountain is above timberline with open bowl skiing and
snowboarding. A-Basin's signature run, Palivacinni, is one of
Colorado's longest and steepest trails.
Founded in 1946, A-Basin is Summit County's oldest ski area, and it's
still a local favorite, known for lighter crowds, great terrain and
springtime slopeside parties. Spend at least one day at Arapahoe
Basin when visiting Summit County.
Amenities at the Basin include retail shops and a bar/restaurant
located at the foot of the mountain, Sixth Alley Bar offers
apre`s-ski libations, and arrangements can be made for ski club,
conference and group functions. Arapahoe Sports has everything for
the hill, including clothing rental.
There are no home or condos at Arapahoe Basin, the closest would be Keystone.
