THE DILLON MARINA

Lake Dillon is one of Colorado's most pristine
recreation areas, surrounded on all sides by unrivaled mountain
views. The crystal clear water, the cool mountain air, and
breathtaking scenery combine to create a rare and memorable
experience for users of this 3,300 acre recreation area. 75
miles west of Denver, Lake Dillon features 25 miles of shoreline and
is fed by the Snake River, Blue River and Ten Mile Creek.
Serving the users of Lake Dillon is the world class Dillon Marina,
located 2 miles east of I-70 in the quaint, historic Town of Dillon.
Owned and managed by the Town of Dillon, the marina
provides quality experience, excellent services and a variety of
activities. The Marina is open from the last weekend in May through
the last weekend in October. (weather and water level and permitting).
Boat Rentals
The Dillon Marina's rental fleet offers a variety of
boats for two hour, half day or full day rental. The Marina's
fleet includes fishing boats, sailboats, pontoon boats and touring
kayaks. Treat your family and friends to a day on the Marina's
famous 25 foot "Party Barge", complete with barbecue grill
and built in coolers. Guests may also opt for a quiet day
paddling around the lake in a touring kayak, which is very stable and
easy to maneuver, even for the novice.
Sailing School
Whether you're new to the sport of sailing, or just
need to brush up on your skills, the Lake Dillon Sailing School can
provide you with the knowledge and experience to fully enjoy sailing
on the challenging waters of Lake Dillon. Dillon is rated as
one of America's best sailing cities by Sailing Magazine.
Introductory courses, group lessons and private lessons are
available from our friendly, knowledgeable staff. The Lake
Dillon Sailing School is a certified American Sailing Association
Training Facility.
Sailing School Certification
ASA (American Sailing Association) Basic Keelboat
Certification is available. Certification requires 8 hours of
class time, 4 hours of on-the-water class time, a practical sailing
exam and an ASA written exam. Certification classes are
scheduled around existing sailing school schedules and are taught by
ASA certified instructors.
